The recent call by United Taxi Associations Forum to be recognition status as the voice of operators within its sphere of influence is pitiful. SANTACO calls on taxi operators not to allow themselves to be misled by illogically provocative statements that are made by interest groups that are nothing but sheer seasonal taxi formations peddling on BRT to seek popularity and have desperate desire for legitimate recognition. The lyrical utterances that the United Taxi Associations Forum (UTAF) continues to make about the livelihood of operators are misguided and of pure parasitic opportunism on the emotions of ordinary operators who are heavily reliant on the present discussions between the taxi and government to protect their only livelihood.
UTAF must therefore be mindful that BRT is not the right platform for a public relations exercise because firstly it is not recognised as a structure and secondly no constitution of the taxi industry provides it with the authority to put such an act let alone, its unethical conduct of disregarding organisational structures within which the taxi industry operates.
